Hi Everybody,

We are having a great time. It is hard to believe that we have been here more than a week already but we have been very busy for the most part.

We had a fabulous introduction to the Galapagos last week when we took a boat out to Isla Lobos and Kicker Rock. At Isla Lobos we swam and played with juvenile sea lions who would bring you sand dollars or sticks and drop them in front of you, like a dog that wants to play fetch. They were extremely playful and flew around us in the water. We also saw some wonderful fish there

and some lucky one got the first view of green sea turtles there. The turtles were actually grazing on algae as they watched. Pretty cool.

We left there and headed across the open ocean to Kicker Rock and while en route we encountered a huge group of dolphins, hundreds and hundreds of them. The boat pilot stopped the boat and we all put on our snorkeling gear and jumped in. It was amazing. Dolphins were zooming by, beneath us, beside us and beyond all you could see was deep dark ocean. We could hear the sonar under water. It was exhilarating and a bit overwhelming. Some people saw babies swimming with their mothers and then some people saw sharks below the dolphins. It was pretty exciting experience. The boat pilot called it ¨lo maximo!”

Muchas gracias para todos,
Margaret
